Hey fellow-VLUGs (Voyager Law User Groupies)!

I know that I am no longer the VLUGCO (Voyager Law User Group Coordinator - hey I am amusing myself, here), but I do still like to get together with my favorite VUs (Voyager Users)...so:

Does anyone want together on Saturday night this year? Do we want to see about taking the 'L' downtown to eat at Riva's on Navy Pier or somewhere else? Do we want to keep it simple and just get together at one of the hotel restaurants:
Champions Sports Bar (American) open for dinner
Firehouse Tavern & Cigar Bar open for dinner
Harvest Grill (American) open for breakfast, lunch, dinner

Please email me back (or on the list to get more people psyched!), Andrea

EndUsers,

Word has reached me that you want something to do in the evenings when you come to EndUser this April. Of course you'll want to join colleagues from your part of the world on Thursday evening, when we offer after-dinner coffee and dessert during Regional User Group meetings. And Friday night you won't want to miss Endeavor's customer reception and the chance to socialize with all the colleagues you spend the rest of the year with virtually via the listservs!

But if you're arriving earlier in the week for pre-conference workshops, or staying until Sunday or Monday before going home, that does leave you with some evenings to spend, doesn't it? And Chicago has so much to offer! Unfortunately, EndUser 2003 is constrained by budget factors this year, just as your institutions are; and by personnel changes, too. We simply don't have the financial or personnel resources this year to schedule and coordinate activities, which in the past have always come in at a financial loss. That's why a couple of folks at Endeavor who love their city and want to help you enjoy it, too, have prepared extensive information for you about finding things to do in Chicago and getting to them -- the information they've linked on SupportWeb under Chicagoland Area Attractions, at http://support.endinfosys.com/cust/community/vgroup/vugm03/eu2003_contents.html

should provide something of interest for everyone! Also, the Marriott's concierge will be glad to help you arrange transportation for groups, to make make dining suggestions, and to answer your other questions about actitivities in Chicago -- just call the O'Hare Marriott's general number, 773-693-4444, and ask the operator for the concierge.

I hope you'll enter into the spirit of adventure, and use the Chicagoland area information on SupportWeb to plan some outings for yourself; and use the listservs to find others who might like to join you. There's still plenty of time to use the web, look around, and find a way to experience a little bit of Chicago when you come to EndUser 2003!--

Debbie Morrow EndUser 2003 Program Chair
